DESCRIPTION:
The Gulf is a multimedia comic that elliptically chronicles the past and present of a Vietnamese-American family. Author, Nguyen Khoi Nguyen uses music and animation, along with words and pictures, to describe the winsome life of a family patched together by food, sewing, books and the occasional Gulf breeze. The first three chapters are currently available on iBooks.
In Chapter 4: It’s 1987 and the Nguyen’s open a Chinese buffet in a brand new shopping center in Cape Coral, Florida. While the aunts and uncles are working, the kids run amok! Also, we visit Washington D.C. in 2015 as Tuan walks around wounded from a break-up and Minh tries to snap him out of it.
