Cartoonist Ellen Forney is the author of bestselling graphic memoir, Marbles: Mania, Depression, Michelangelo, and Me and Rock Steady: Brilliant Advice From My Bipolar Life. She was recently awarded the NAMI Washington Media Partner Award for those books, and Marbles was chosen as the 2018–19 Common Book for the University of Washington Health Sciences schools. She curated a traveling exhibition about comics and health for the National Library of Medicine, which is currently touring libraries and universities across the country. She collaborated on the National Book Award-winning novel, The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian, and was awarded residency fellowships from the MacDowell Colony, Civitella Ranieri, and Hedgebrook. She grew up in Philadelphia and lives in Seattle, and teaches comics at Cornish College of the Arts.
