A ee mi is an illustrator and cartoonist who received an MFA degree in Illustration Practice from MICA and is now based in Taipei. The psychedelic retro style, bright colors, and comics that empathize with life are A ee mi’s way to soothe souls on social media. The characters in her comics include meowmeowbug and lazylazydog. Through their dialogues, she attempts to explore the meaning of love, life, and existence.
A ee mi’s comic Platonic Love, completed in the run-up to Taiwan’s 2018 referendum on gay marriage, was nominated for the 2023 Ignatz for Outstanding Comic.
